The aim of
every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold
it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves
again since it is life. ~William Faulkner

- A recent project -
‘Façade’ - A
facade or façade (
/fəˈsɑːd/) is
generally one exterior side of a building,
usually, but not always, the front. The word comes from the French language, literally
meaning "frontage"
or "face".
We all show a façade,
different facades to different people depending on whom we are talking to. I
like this idea of there always being more to something or someone that appears.
People use clothes and fashion as a form of a façade. I did a project on my
progression as a person over the last few years and brought it around to a conclusion
of a 15 hour piece.
